In an industry first, we’ve incorporated a precision navigation solution through a simple modular add-on to our 4P Series sensors to solve one of the most vexing problems in agricultural aerial imaging.

The integrated dual-antenna RTK GPS, LIDAR rangefinder, and extended Kalman filter (EKF) navigation solution measures the sensor position relative to the plant within centimeters, so measurement scale is precise.

SlantViewTM exports information layers in multiple industry standard formats for easy and seamless combination all of your data sources in your favorite data management tool for a complete field picture. Generate custom PDF reports including images, maps, notes, and annotations.


SlantViewTM also exports full-resolution, fully calibrated reflectance imagery with all of the embedded metadata necessary to build your own maps and conduct your own analysis to allow you to take advantage of the resolution and radiometric accuracy of SlantRange sensors in whatever software platform you choose.

SlantViewTM  builds upon the raw data delivered by SlantRange sensors to produce unique metrics of crop development throughout the growing season.


For many crops, the first few weeks after planting are a critical stage during which plant populations and weed pressures need to be evaluated. SlantViewTM isolates individual plants for analysis to deliver statistics on stand density, plant sizes, and weed pressure.

1) Plant Population

The Plant Population layer provides a true stand count. SlantView’s algorithms detect each plant in the field and segregate them into crop and weed populations for accurate measurement. Populations are indicated in plants per acre to assist with critical replant decisions or to help assess yield potential

2) Emergence Fraction NEW

For crops with very high planting densities (e.g. soybean, wheat), the Emergence Fraction data layer helps assess population. In contrast to the Plant Population layer, Emergence Fraction provides a measure of row gaps.

3) Plant Size NEW

The Plant Size data layer has multiple uses for different crop applications. For broad-acre row crops like corn and cotton, plant size is used to assess crop maturity in the early stages. In specialty produce applications, this layer is used to help estimate yield.

4) Weed Density

SlantView exploits the spectral and spatial characteristics of differing plant classes to detect weed pressure in early-stage row crops. Weed densities are indicated according to the fraction of local field area they cover.


For crops developing past emergence, SlantViewTM includes multiple data layers that each provide a unique measure of status for growers, for a comprehensive look at evolving conditions.

1) Vegetation Fraction

The Vegetation Fraction layer segments the crop canopy from bare soil or other field residue to measure canopy closure. This layer is valuable for locating mis-planted or thin coverage areas, or for measuring damage from weather or other events.

2) Quad-Band Vegetation Stress

This data layer combines four spectral bands across the visible and near infrared to provide a more sensitive measure of vegetation stress than simple 2-band NDVI. This enables earlier detection of nutrient or pest problems for more effective treatment.

3) Yield Potential

Multiple crop metrics are combined to assess future performance in the Yield Potential layer. This is the producer’s highest level assessment tool and includes the contributions of numerous independent factors that ultimately contribute to yield.

4) Chlorophyll Index NEW

The Chlorophyll Index layer uses algorithms established in academia to estimate the relative chlorophyll content in a crop. This data layer is valuable for tracking chlorophyll content independent of other crop metrics.

5) Multiple NDVI Variants

SlantView also produces traditional vegetation indices including NDVI normalized against green, red, and red edge bands.


Grower information needs are incredibly diverse, and generic measures such as NDVI maps rarely supply actionable information. In 2016 we introduced an incredibly powerful tool for instantly customizable data layers. Algorithms embedded into SlantViewTM enable signals training and classification for a wide range of specialized capabilities. The potential applications are countless.
