Overview:

  • Sensor technology: Magnetometer;

  • Application type: UXO Search, Geophysics and Geology.

Description:

  • Lowest payload: The MagDrone R3 is an ultra-portable magnetometer survey kit to be attached to any UAV/drone with a minimum payload of 1kg;

  • Ready to go: The kit consists of an ultra-lightweight sensor tube with two built-in 3-axis Fluxgates with 150pT resolution, a 1-button data logger with internal SD card, rechargeable batteries and an integrated GPS. It is made and optimized for small and mid-size survey UAVs/drones that are shaped for less payload and longer flight times;

  • Compact setup: Thanks to the 200Hz sampling rate the MagDrone R3 can directly attached to the landing gear of a drone - even in closest distance to the motors! Compared to others, the MagDrone R3 can distinguish between motor noise, net frequencies, temporary interferences and ground signal;

  • Universal usage: Depending on capabilities of the UAV/drone in terms of maneuverability and GPS precision, the MagDrone R3 survey kit can be used for general purpose surveys, science related magnetic cartographies, exploration studies on hidden minerals, as well as for safety relevant operations. Those can include area scanning for bombs and ammunition, as well as preventive surveillance of areas and camps against intrusion;

  • Simplicity: The frame ensures an easy attachment to any kind of UAV/drone by screwing, strapping or bonding both together;

  • Intuitive science: The data logger is continuously recording while in air. Afterwards the data can be downloaded to any Windows® computer to further process the measurement values i.e. using the SENSYS software MagDrone DataTool, MAGNETO®, GIS tools or Matlab for own scripting;

  • MagBase: Together with the SENSYS tool MagBase acting as a reference station; the drone based magnetometer data can be correlated with those from the MagBase. That will enable the cancellation of temporary noise sources such as crossing vehicles or net frequencies;

  • SENSYS Remote App: with the Android Remote App user can establish a Bluetooth connection between MagDrone R3 and their Smartphone to check system condition prior and after flying, initiate or stop data recording as well as see live readings at 2Hz sampling rate to check system, ground and environmental conditions.

Overview:

  • Sensor technology: Magnetometer;

  • Application type: UXO Search, Geophysics and Geology.

Description:

The MagDrone R4 is used for high resolution are mapping in order to detect small and compact objects as well as structures in the ground, such as bombs, ammunition or settlement features from the past.

Its unique folding mechanism allows a sensor spacing of either 25cm or 50cm providing a 2.5m swath width.

With 200Hz sampling rate the MagDrone series can easily filter out noise from net frequencies, infrastructure or the UAV/Drone motors. Hence, the MagDrone devices can be directly installed on the drone landing gear to enable a very compact setup.

The MagDrone R4 survey kit can be used for general purpose surveys, science related magnetic cartographies, mine exploration, as well as for safety relevant operations such as area scanning for bombs and ammunition, preventive check and surveillance of areas and camps against intrusion.

Operating the MagDrone R4 is as simple. It only comes with one button and an onboard server to be accessed from any WIFI device, such as smartphones, tablets or laptops. That helps for any easy setup, configuration, system check, as well as remote start/stop of recordings and data download. The MagDrone Data Tool helps to identify flown tracks, cut, filter and compensate the raw data, generates a preview and exports into various formats to further process the recorded values i.e. using the MAGNETO® software, GIS tools or Matlab with your own scripting.

Together with the SENSYS tool MagBase acting as a reference station, the drone based magnetometer data can be correlated with those from the MagBase. That will enable the cancellation of temporary noise sources such as crossing vehicles or net frequencies.
